How Good Is the Moto G73? Mid-Range With Balanced Hardware

Moto G73: With 8 GB of RAM, NFC and 5G connection, let’s analyze the technical sheet of another Motorola cell phone from 2023. Let’s find out if the Moto G73 is any good.

The year started busy for Motorola, with the launch of four handsets from one of its most famous lines. We have already analyzed the technical sheet of the Moto G23It’s fromG53, and the time has come to answer the question: is the Moto G73 any good? The Moto G line was synonymous with cost-effective cell phones, especially in its early days. With so many smartphones being launched together, many consumers wonder which fits their needs best. So let’s get to know more about the new member of the Moto G family.

Design And Connectivity

Visually, the entire set of newly launched Moto G line phones is very similar. Placing the G73 next to the 53 and the 23 makes them virtually indistinguishable, save for minor details. The rear of the model in question is more similar to that of the G23, only without a third lens in its set of cameras.

And despite the few new features, it is still a beautiful design, with a matte plastic finish, with a slight elevation in the camera module. The Moto G73 can be purchased in sparkling white, called “Lucent White”, and dark blue, called “Midnight Blue”.

The Moto G73 has 5G connectivity, with Bluetooth 5.3 support; WIFI 5; GPS; the digital reader on the side; Android 13 as the operating system; NFC and Moto Secure. In addition, it has a SIM card slot, with a hybrid slot for microSD or a second chip, a P2 headphone jack and USB-C 2.0

Screen And Audio

The Moto G73 brings more extraordinary evolutions to its screen than its recently released “brothers”. Despite also having 6.5 inches, its screen has OLED technology, with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 equivalent to Full HD + and a 120 Hz refresh rate. It is the best screen among the newly released Moto G’s.

As for audio, the Moto G73 repeats positive points, such as having stereo audio with Dolby Atoms technology, which optimizes the quality of sounds played on the speakers and headphones.

Performance

In its hardware, the Moto G73 has the MediaTek Dimensity 930 chipset, with eight cores, four from the A55 series and two from the A78 series. It is a smartphone with a good processing power for everyday uses and does well with lighter games, despite not being so optimized to balance processing with battery drain.

Another highlight in its hardware is the evolution of RAM. The Moto G73 has 8 GB and 256 GB of internal storage, which can reach up to 1 TB via microSD card. With all these performance-related specifications, the Moto G73 positions itself as a high-level intermediary, fully capable of lasting a few years in the user’s hand, with support for up to 3 years of security updates.

Cameras

As mentioned, the Moto G73 has only two sensors on its back, the primary lens of 50 MP, capable of shooting videos in Full HD at 60 frames per second. Its second lens is an 8MP ultrawide lens. It is considered a hybrid lens because it has an autofocus function, allowing photos and videos in macro mode – avoiding the need for a third lens with a few megapixels to perform this function.

On the other hand, the front camera remains unchanged, with 16 MP, capable of recording Full HD videos at 30 frames per second. In short, this is a perfect set of cameras; although similar to the other Moto G’s just reviewed here, optimizing the ultrawide lens as a hybrid becomes a highlight.

Battery

I do not have any big news; the Moto G73 is above average. It has a 5,000 mAh battery, standard among mid-range devices, and has support for fast charging of up to 30W, despite the native charger that comes with it. In the box, there is only 18W.

In other words, we have a device that, in ordinary and routine uses, lasts for more than a day and a half and manages to reach its full charge after, more or less, 30 minutes connected to the socket, in the case of charging with 30W.
